Tobermory Distillery
Nestled on the vibrant shores of the Isle of Mull, Tobermory Distillery has been a beacon of craftsmanship and heritage since its founding in 1798. Set against the backdrop of the island's rugged landscapes and iconic colourful harbour, the distillery is more than just a place where whisky is made - it's a part of the tapestry of Mull's rich history and culture.
For over two centuries, we have been crafting single malt whiskies that capture the sprit of the island, combining the pure waters from the Gearr Abhainn brook with traditional methods, passed down through the generations. They take great pride in blending tradition and innovation, producing small-batch whiskies which capture the unique character of Mull in every drop.
Tobermory have upheld the traditional art of whisky-making while embracing innovation to ensure they deliver the highest quality in every bottle. Following extensive renovations between 2017 and 2019, the distillery was modernised with both sustainability and efficiency in mind. Yet, their commitment to handcrafting authentic, small-batch whisky remains unchanged. Today, we continue to produce some of the finest single malts in Scotland, including special cask-finished editions and limited releases that epitomise the highest levels of the whisky making craft.

A TALE OF TWO WHISKIES - PEATED AND UNPEATED
At Tobermory Distillery, they craft not one, but two distinct styles of whisky, each reflecting the unique characteristics of our location and heritage as an island single malt. Tobermory is the signature unpeated single malt and is known for its bright, fruity notes with hints of citrus, oak, and subtle sweetness. Tobermory whisky is a reflection of the lively town they call home, evoking the fresh, vibrant energy of Mull’s natural beauty. A bolder expression of their craft, Ledaig is their peated whisky. Deeply influenced by the rugged coastline and topography of the island, Ledaig delivers a rich, smoky flavour with earthy undertones.
