First released in 2018, Hillhead was created to celebrate and highlight one of their 5 keystones of production: cask harmonisation. To create a whisky that is fully rounded, unconventionally distinctive and with a long finish, harmonisation is key. It’s where the flavours from different casks have the opportunity to marry and achieve their intense balance.
Bottled at 46% ABV, Hillhead was matured in 3 casks: European oak sherry, American oak sherry and American oak bourbon. It is intensely gold in colour and expresses a fine balance of creamy vanilla, fresh coconut, lemon zest, crisp heather honey, and light and spicy smokiness. Only 1,200 bottles were released.
