Usually available only for travel retail, Laphroaig 25 Year Old The Bessie Williamson is an expression released to celebrate the former distillery owner Bessie Williamson. Bessie started in a post as a typist at the distillery in 1934 but she quickly moved up the ranks to office manager and when the distillery owner at the time fell ill, he placed the running of the distillery in her very capable and loving hands and she became the new distillery owner, making it a huge success and still infamous globally today.

Laphroaig 25 Year Old The Bessie Williamson Story honours the life of the only woman to own and run a Scottish distillery in the 20th century.

This super-premium 25-year-old Laphroaig celebrates the life of Bessie Williamson, a limited edition bottle that has become very difficult to source. Bessie Williamson is an ABSOLUTE ICON of Laphroaig & the first female distillery manager to own & run a Scotch whisky distillery in the 20th century – no mean feat in an industry dominated by men.
